Michelle first learned the value of having an inspirational coach in high school as a member of the Los Gatos Rowing Club. Her coach taught her that success comes through hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude both on and off the water. His lessons stuck with her through college where she competed on a national level for the University of Oregon club water polo team. After college, Michelle took up cycling and competed in cyclocross and endurance mountain bike events, including the Cascade Cream Puff 100-mile mountain bike race. In 2010, Michelle and her husband explored the Pacific Coast by bike, riding from their home in the Pacific Northwest to the Mexican border.
Michelle coaches the Olympic lifting class at CrossFit Evviva and is passionate about helping others build confidence and achieve goals they never thought possible.
She lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband, twin girls, three chickens, two cats, and one dog, and her preferred mode of transportation is on her mixtie bike. She has a penchant for Belgian beer, is known to tickle the ivories on occasion, and believes that most of life’s problems can be fixed by just doing more squats.
