Michelle Baumann first learned the value of having an inspirational coach in high school as a member of the Los Gatos Rowing Club. Her coach taught her that success comes with hard work, dedication, and having a good attitude both on and off the water. His lessons stuck with her through college where she competed on a national level for the University of Oregon club water polo team. After college, Michelle took up cycling and competed in many cyclocross and endurance mountain bike events, including the Cascade Cream Puff 100-mile mountain bike race. In 2010, Michelle and her husband explored the Pacific Coast by bike, riding from their home in Pacific Northwest, to the Mexican border in less than three weeks.
Michelle took her first CrossFit class in 2011 and has never looked back. Shortly after receiving her Level 1 certification, she began coaching at CrossFit Evviva. Michelle primarily works with new members to bring them up-to-speed to the world of functional fitness. She is passionate about helping her clients build confidence both in and out of the gym and achieve goals that they never thought were possible.
When she isn’t coaching, Michelle works as an editorial assistant for a behavioral science research center at a major university. She lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband, twin girls, three chickens, two cats, and one dog, and her preferred mode of transportation is on her mixtie bike. Michelle has a penchant for Belgian beer, is known to tickle the ivories on occasion, and believes that most of life’s problems can be fixed by just doing more squats.
