2XU - Compression Gear
Here's our review of 2XU Compression Gear -

Who here has used compression gear for training and/or recovery? Which brand did you use and how did it go?

RE: 2XU - Compression Gear
2xu exclusively. I've got so many pairs of their stuff I'm like a walking advert!

I find the lower body stuff works well, but never thought that the upper body items worked. They just don't seem to be able to get the same compressive effect in the torso you can get for the limbs. So perhaps arm sleeves are decent, but shirts seem to be a waste based on my study of me. But definitely worth buying tights and socks at least if you do lower body strength and/ or running.

what kind of training do you do? in what ways do you feel compression gear helps you?

Hmm, that's interesting because I always wondered if wearing some compression sleeves would help my elbows. I've used the socks to ease Achilles and calf issues very successfully, which led me to wonder if the elbow pain I feel after a lot of overhead pushing/pulling would be helped by sleeves.

RE: 2XU - Compression Gear
Winslow - I lift a fair bit and have done for almost thirty years now (OMG!).

I also run, swim, ride, have boxed and done BJJ and other martial arts for 30 years (competed for 27). You know, just the usual Smile

They're good when you're crippled with DOMS and good when your legs are just "heavy" after a big ride or run. Having started a new strength block today with some new lower body work in it, my legs were actually cramping during my swim this afternoon and I've got them on right now to help that out overnight. I'll sleep in them tonight and then run in my socks tomorrow as my calves are still not yet really ready to cope with running on their own.

I really urge people to give compression gear a try. I was not a big believer until I got an employee discount at 2XU and bought a stack. Now I'm a total fan boy.

Becca - That makes sense. I've used actual compression bandage during heavy pressing blocks over winter when the long rests and heavy loads often lead to some elbow issues. The warmth seems to keep it at bay.
