Due to life getting in the way this week, it ended up being an unplanned deload week of sorts. Despite this, I did manage good results in the squat and bench.
Good solid week this week, with good results in the low bar squat, deadlift, and tactical pull ups. Today I'll discuss how I determine my objectives each week.
In addition to my powerlifting schedule, I’ve decided to compete in Strong First’s Tactical Strength Challenge on April 12th, so I've added a few things to my training.
Some weeks you just have to make the training brief, and this was one of those times. It was a light week due to work and travel, but I'll be back full swing next week.
This week was a good time to remember the old adage, “A peak, by definition, is surrounded by two valleys.” Nothing spectacular, but a solid week of training.
I’m making gradual progress week by week, although I’m not feeling especially strong lately. I’ve also been pondering the idea of including a bit of mobility work in my training.
This entry marks my first full week of training following World Championships. I'll be doing Wendler's 5-3-1 program to prep for upcoming events.
Here's a report of this year's Raw! Federation World Powerlifting Championships, as well as my goals for the future in light of my performance at the meet.
There are just two weeks left until Worlds, and this week's training was encouraging. I set new PRs in the cambered bar squat, which has become one of my new mainstay exercises for squat training.
Nothing terribly spectacular this week, although I did hit an easy bench PR. On the less positive side, I’m developing some fluid accumulation in my right elbow.
A very good week of training. There’s not much you can do to improve your fitness right before a meet, but there’s a lot you can do to screw things up. So my goal right now is just business as usual.
Another solid week in the books, including a 455lb pull on a very thick bar. This should be equivalent to about 500lbs on a normal bar. My bench press is also coming along nicely.
