This was a solid, productive training week with a 3RM PR on the high bar squat and a 1RM PR on the bench press. As competition looms nearer, I find myself training more and more on instinct.
Despite a 515 miss on the deadlift this week, I had a solid bench press and squat session. Overall, I'm feeling confident about Worlds, which are just seven weeks away now.
This was a quality training week, with an easy 370lb squat and also an easy 225lb x 3 bench press. Everything feels on track.
I’ve been feeling a bit under-recovered this week, so my volume was lower than normal. Despite that, I nearly hit a 340lb high bar squat, and my bench program is going well also.
I'm more sore than I've been in awhile, but overall it was a gratifying week, with an easy 355lb low bar squat, a 475lb pull after a ton of squats, and lots of hard upper-body work.
Aside from a disappointing session on Friday, this was a rewarding week with a lot of hard work. I ended the week with the first session of a 6-week Soviet-style cycle.
My training this week reassured me that I'll be ready for Worlds in twelve weeks. I hit an easy 315lb squat and 455lb deadlift with minimal shoulder pain.
After taking a week off, I sat down and made some more adjustments to my training week. With Worlds just 13 weeks away, it's time to get some serious work done.
I'm continuing to see improvements with the changes I made to my training plan. This week I set a lifetime deadlift PR and also had some solid squat sessions.
I continued with my new training approach this week with great success. Lots of video in this week's entry of high bar squats, bench presses, and a new addition for me - band-resisted deadlifts.
This week I had EMG analysis done on my lower body, and also made some changes to my weekly cycle, based on recent research on the ideal training volume and how to distribute it.
I made a lot of adjustments to my training this week and noted several improvements, including a chin-up with 100 pounds of added weight - a lifetime PR for me.
