Over the course of this series, we've learned about the talent code and myelin, the neural insulator critical to the development of skill in athletes. We first examined how to stimulate myelin's growth with deep practice in training. Deep practice is the action, and thus for the athlete is the most critical element of the talent code.
In my years, I have heard a lot of excellent cues that transform a coach’s words from mere regurgitation of errors into valuable teaching cues.
The good coach is going to be able to evaluate developmental progress on the basis of intangible factors.
As time wore on, I realised some of the movement cues weren’t applicable to everyone.
