Before and after a sweaty workout, I often want a grab-and-go treat. This is why many of my recipes have been for healthy, delicious meals you can make in five minutes or less.


I also look for the most nutrient-dense nibbles that support my workouts and help my body perform optimally. But unfortunately, finding recipes that are both nutrient-dense and delicious can often be a challenge. Living a paleo life isn't always easy, especially if you have a craving for a snack that tastes like a treat.

Meet my Great Balls of Yum.

These bite-sized balls are easy to make, delicious to eat, and filled with everything your body needs to support a workout. Long gone are the days of doughnut holes in my diet, but I still crave the experience of popping something tasty in my mouth. Great Balls of Yum are the answer to my prayers. Here are two of my favorite recipes.


Perfect Date Balls


Perfect date balls are a convenient source of potassium, protein, and other nutrients.


These little devils are filled with a nutrient-dense punch. Dates offer the potassium our bodies crave during a sweaty workout, and chia seeds provide much needed protein, as well as fiber, calcium, magnesium, and a little bit of crunch.



  • 1/2 cup cashew butter
  • 1/3 cup dates 
  • 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons each of coconut oil and coconut milk (top solids only)



  1. Add all ingredients in a food processor and mix well. 
  2. Roll into balls and place on parchment-lined tray.
  3. Place in refrigerator for about two hours and enjoy.


Chocolate Coconut Bam Balls

Chocolate and coconut - what more could you want?


Nothing jazzes me more than the combination of chocolate and coconut. The cacao powder in the Bam balls offers the antioxidant and cardio support every athlete needs, while the coconut butter gives your body a good dose of healthy fats and boosts metabolism. These babies are also packed with calcium and magnesium. 



  • 1/2 cup coconut butter
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk solids (put in refrigerator if needed to solidify)
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup cacao nibs



  1. Add all ingredients except the cacao nibs to a food processor and mix well. 
  2. Roll into balls and place on parchment-lined tray. 
  3. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Take out and roll in cacao nibs and place back in refrigerator for another hour. Enjoy.
