In this video, Ben demonstrates three exercises to simultaneously develop core and shoulder strength. They all involve an element of twisting, along with a shoulder press movement. These exercises are:


  • Double dumbbell shoulder press - Clean the dumbbells up to shoulder height. Twist to one side and press.
  • Kettlebell reach and lift - Simulate taking the kettlebell off a counter top and placing it into a high cupboard.
  • Shotput lift and press - Start in a crouch, twist, and press. You can use a dumbbell instead of a shotput for this.


For all three of these movements, alternate sides with each twist and press. Give them a go and let us know which you like best!
