This exercise is for those who have difficulty conceptualizing the catch portion of the snatch. The lifter stands with the weight in the hang position with a snatch grip, and then stands up on the balls of the feet and toes. No rebending of the knees is allowed, and the only way to generate any upward pull is with the arms. The lifter then has to use the speed of descent to move under and catch the bar.
