Athlete Journal: Charles Staley, Entry 35 – Lowest Bodyweight Since My 20s

My numbers this week were solid but not spectacular, but it seems my shoulder is almost back to normal. I'm also at the lowest bodyweight I've been at since my twenties.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Ever wonder how a world-class coach actually trains? Wonder what it’s like to train as a “mature athlete?” Welcome to the athlete journal of Charles Staley. A big believer in practicing what he preaches, Charles trains and competes just like his clients. Now, every Friday read what Charles has done this week in his workout sessions, and how he feels about it.

Solid but not spectacular numbers this week, the most noteworthy being a 265 bench, which is only 5 pounds below my PR. That’s a good indicator that the shoulder is coming along well.

My body composition is also on track. This photo is of me at a bodyweight of 200.6 lbs, which is the lightest I’ve been since I was in my 20’s.

Next week I’ll be testing my maximum strength levels to see how I’m performing at this new lower bodyweight.
