Andrew has spent nearly forty years in three main areas of health care – nursing and orthopaedic operating theatre specialisation, sales and management for joint replacement and keyhole surgery specialists and, for the last 25 years, as a registered osteopath. Special interests at Andrew's clinic include the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of shoulder problems, from simple to complex. He is also spending increasing amounts of time on encouraging mobility and movement to a full range of ages, as he sees lack of movement as being the most important aspect of a healthy path to promoting longevity. Away from work, Andrew trains with kettlebells regularly and is a regular on the UK’s competitive girevoy (kettlebell sport) circuit. He has competed at world championship level, gaining a fourth place in his class in 2014. Other fitness interests include mountain biking and of lifting heavy things.
