About Chris Garay

Chris Garay is a trainer, educator, athlete, and musician based out of Annandale, Virginia. He grew up playing sports (soccer, basketball, and wrestling) in grade school, and then he shifted focus to music in high school and college. Chris became a world-class snare drummer, toured the country playing drumset, and currently teaches one of the best marching percussion ensembles in the world. Along the way, he earned a degree in philosophy and religious studies and pursued graduate studies in social psychology and well-being.

Chris has dabbled in triathlon, trail running, yoga, CrossFit, Olympic lifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, Floreio, Brazilian jiu jitsu, muay Thai, bouldering, and parkour. His fitness educational background includes courses and certifications through CrossFit, Exuberant Animal, the Poliquin Group, Dragon Door, Training for Warriors, Optimum Performance Training, Precision Nutrition, Original Strength, and Gymnastic Bodies. He is interested in helping change people’s lives for the better, and he currently does so as the Individual Design Program Manager at District CrossFit in Washington, D.C.
