Dhanya is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor. She studied at Yoga Works in New York. Her specialty is working with bodies to bring them to optimal alignment. She has been practicing yoga, meditation, and the associated philosophies for over ten years. She practices vippasana (insight) meditation. She has further studied the specifics of anatomy and how it’s applied when practicing yoga. She is a certified instructor in yoga for sports performance and its therapeutics for athletes. Dhanya continues to learn and grow through continuous study of yoga and its application to athletic performance. Dhanya was born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka and moved to New York at the age of sixteen. She holds a BA in Media Studies from Hunter College. Apart from yoga, Dhanya works as a full-time special assistant and enjoys playing tennis, watching soccer, and cooking gourmet meals.
