Ericka Andersen has been a passionate fitness lover and aspirational athlete for most her life. She began her athletic life gymnastics, dancing, and cheerleading. After taking a break from athletics in college, she became passionate about running and lost 20 pounds in the process.
Once the running bug hit, she began training for marathons and has completed nine full marathons and countless half-marathons. In 2012, Ericka discovered CrossFit and never looked back. Her love of CrossFit inspired her to get her NASM personal training certification and start a fitness blog, The Sweet Life.
She has partnered with Reebok, Mizuno, and other high profile brands. In 2013 and 2014, she covered the CrossFit Games in Carson, California as official media. She was named one of Washington, DC's top fitness bloggers and was a team leader for Back on My Feet, a running program for homeless addicts in recovery.
Ericka believes fitness is the best path to optimal mental health. Her focus is on the importance of cross-training and she likes to use elements like swimming and yoga to balance out hardcore workouts.
