Jennifer Houghton is a certified 200-hr yoga teacher, fitness instructor (AFLCA), Pilates instructor, dance instructor, personal trainer, and former yoga studio owner. Jennifer draws from 25 years experience teaching movement. She has trained with dancers, sports scientists, kinesiologists, physiotherapists, and personal trainers to expand her knowledge of the best techniques for safe and effective form and body movement.
Decades of observing the effects that wear and tear have on the body inspired Jennifer to specialize in pain relief and improving mobility for people over 45.
After years of working with hundreds of distinct bodies including people with arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, knee replacements, hip replacements, metal rods, sciatica, and fibromyalgia, she saw a need for pain-relief and core-strengthening techniques that are accessible even to those who are immobilized. She developed The Release Method which is a series of breathing techniques to reduce pain and improve core strength that anyone can practice no matter what their level.
Jennifer offers gentle yoga, back pain exercises, and pain relief programs online and works with clients via Skype. She also teaches live classes and workshops in southern British Columbia, Canada.
