Rick Howard is currently working on his doctorate degree at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, earned his masters degree in education from Wilmington (DE) University in School Leadership, and his bachelors degree from Temple University in exercise science. He is actively involved in the National Strength and Conditioning Association, where he serves on the Youth Special Interest Group as a founding member and Immediate Past-Chair, as well as the Chair of the NSCA State Provincial Director Committee where he is the Mid-Atlantic Region Coordinator overseeing strength and conditioning clinics in seven states. Howard also served on the NSCA Membership Committee. He is an Associate Editor of the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Journal (SCJ), was guest editor for a Youth feature edition of the SCJ, and contributes a column on youth training to the NSCA Coach Journal.
Howard is an Adjunct instructor in exercise science/strength and conditioning at Delaware State University, Rowan University, Temple University, and West Chester University. He is certified with distinction by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His primary interest is presenting concepts of pediatric exercise science and active learning to sport coaches, physical education teachers, and those who wish to improve the lives of our young people.
