Dear Willow,
Do you have any quick tips how to get into Crow pose? I’ve been struggling with this pose for some time now and feel like I’m falling face down instead of staying up. What can I do to help?
Sincerely,
Downward Spiral
Dear Downward Spiral,
With many arm balances and inversions, it is necessary to push off of the ground to gain the uplifting or rebounding effect. Think of dribbling a basketball. The harder downward force from the ball into the ground creates a higher propulsion up. If you want to go higher in a pose, increase the downward pressure.
To help you further, I’ve put together a simple home spun video!
Quick Tips for Crow Pose
- Block under feet
- Press feet forward
- Push shins into arms
- Press sacrum up
Enjoy practicing these tips!
Sincerely,
Willow
