Evie Corrigan (52KG) Sets IPF Raw World Record Total of 460 Kilograms (1,014.1 Pounds)

Corrigan's dominance is now known on a international level.

Written by Robert Zeglinski Last updated on Mar 30, 2023

The 2023 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships saw seemingly countless records broken in various divisions. Unsurprisingly, superstar powerlifters like Amanda Lawrence led the way. Evie Corrigan can add her name to the extensive list created in Sheffield, England, on Mar. 25, 2023.

Over the course of the Sheffield competition, the 52-kilogram Corrigan scored two raw International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Records. The first was a deadlift of 202.5 kilograms (446.4 pounds). The second, at the contest’s end, was a 460-kilogram (1,014.3-pound) total.

Notably, Corrigan’s records might come with a caveat. Fellow 52-kilogram athlete Jenn Rotsinger previously also deadlifted 202.5 kilograms (446.4 pounds) at the 2019 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) The Tribute. Plus, Rotsinger’s total from the same competition (465 kilogram/1,025.1 pounds) is five kilograms more than Corrigan’s IPF raw World Record total.

That said, the USPA is organized by the International Powerlifting League (IPL), and doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of the IPF. Rotsinger can claim the all-time raw deadlift and total World Records, but Corrigan stands alone in the 52-kilogram IPF class.

Here’s an overview of Corrigan’s top stats from the 2023 Sheffield Championships:

Evie Corrigan (52KG) | 2023 Sheffield Championships Top Stats

  • Squat — 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds)
  • Bench Press — 97.5 kilograms (214.9 pounds)
  • Deadlift — 202.5 kilograms (446.4 pounds) | IPF Raw World Record
  • Total — 460 kilograms (1,014.1 pounds) | IPF Raw World Record

On Instagram, while thanking various people in her life, Corrigan had an apt reaction to her record-breaking performance.

“Boy have I got a story to tell, but I’ll wait for a longer form of content to share that,” Corrigan wrote. “What I will say is that although I knew there was technically a possibility I could win, we’d crunched the numbers, the actual result is beyond my wildest dreams. I’m still shook.”

According to Open Powerlifting, Corrigan has now participated in 19 sanctioned powerlifting contests. She has won on 16 occasions. The latest triumph puts her on top of an international division. Something says her reign might only be beginning.
