Fish Pose Focus
Begin by lying on the back, and placing the hands on the mat beside the hips. Come up onto your elbows and gently move your body towards the back of your mat, keeping your forearms on the floor. Open up through the chest as you drop the top of your head back to the floor, opening your throat and neck. Stay in the pose for 5-10 deep breaths, then release your upper body down to the floor. Repeat the pose 3 rounds.
Place a blanket under your head if the top head does not reach the floor.
To adding the benefits of a detoxifying breath practice you can use lion’s breath in the pose. To practice lion’s breath open the mouth with the tongue out, inhale and exhale with a forceful “ha” sounding breath.
