You do not have a body. You are a body. You are a living, breathing human organism. With that in mind, a big component of our performance is the health and function of our nervous system.
Our nervous system loves three things more than anything else: safety, function, and variety.
If we want to optimize our performance, we must first establish safety in the nervous system so that it will allow us to do what we want. We must then allow our bodies to move with efficiency and efficacy. And then we need to get a little crazy and introduce some new variables to keep ourselves challenged and dynamic.
When we do all that, we’ll be able to find a new level of performance and joy in our practice.
