If you intend to run for any length of distance, your footwear is a critical choice. Beginning runners and experienced runners alike should make sure they are getting the level of support they need.
As someone who has an issue with pronating due to extremely high arches, this running shoe from New Balance was a welcome change of pace. They are more cushioned than the shoes I am used to, so I wasn’t sure if that would be an issue for me or not. After the first run, I felt like my stride was immediately improved and my lack of ankle flexibility was no longer a hindrance after a couple runs.
This winter I have had to do more treadmill running than I would like, and I always notice my stride and strike issues on the treadmill more than anywhere else. I was surprised that these shoes felt as good as they did, and my longer treadmill runs felt the best they have in a long while. These are truly street or treadmill shoes, I wouldn’t recommend running trails in these.
Vazee Prism Put to the Test
New Balance has a reputation of stable footwear and the Vazee Prism is no exception. The Vazee Prism features a medial post to help with over-pronation, something that many runners face. At just 8.3 oz, these shoes are light but still provide a presence of stability. The 8mm drop puts you in a great position for a midfoot strike and helps break a heel strike habit if one is present.
I usually have a lot of calf fatigue after any runs longer than five miles, and I didn’t experience as much of that on my long runs in these shoes. The Prism also has built in midsole REVlite foam to cuddle your foot when you run. These shoes are very stable and very very comfortable.
I really liked these shoes. If you are looking for a stable and versatile training shoe, these are a good choice for the price.
