Awake & Evolve: Cycle 2 – Winter Solstice Restorative Practice

The second cycle of Awake & Evolve workouts focuses on using the breath, building upper body stamina, and fostering a habit of regular meditation.

Legs Up the Wall Restorative Pose

Find an empty wall space for your practice. Place a blanket under the hips and spine to allow the body to find a comfortable pose on the floor. Bring the legs up the wall for 5-10 minutes. Close the eyes as you relax the body.


Winter Solstice Meditation

Take a comfortable seat as you begin to tune in to your deep breathing. Place the right hand on the belly and the left hand on the heart. Begin to count the breaths as they come in and out of the body. Stay here with this practice for 3-5 minutes. Bring the hands into prayer position for the last two minutes of the meditation, bringing the attention back to the concept of light coming out of the darkness. Stay here as long as you wish.
