Choose Lift Straps and Wrist Wraps Based on Function

The wrist wraps and lifting straps you need depend on what workout you're doing.

At first glance, you will notice that the Gymreapers lifting straps have some extra padding on the wrists for comfort. It’s a great pair of straps for the deadlift unless you’re planning on lifting over 400 lbs or 181 kg.

Overall, I would recommend these straps for training days instead of strongman competitions.

Stiff Weightlifting Wrist Wraps

It’s almost second nature to adjust your wrist wraps after every set when you’ve become accustomed to training.

Enter the Gymreapers wrist wraps. Aside from the cool logo they have designed, the loop around the thumb makes it easier for adjustment, and you can find them on Amazon at a great value.

Strength Wrist wraps

If you’re looking for good wrist support for doing overhead snatches, the Gymreapers wrist wraps will provide you substantial support for your wrists.

Again it has a pretty cool logo that will make you look badass while you perform 200+ lbs overhead snatches, pull-ups, or toes to the bar.

However, I would refrain from putting these on if you’re working on handstand walks or handstand pushups. While they provide excellent support for your wrists, they don’t exactly offer sufficient room for flexibility.

About Gianni Handoko

Since the age of 7, health, wellness, recovery, and martial arts have always been a huge part of Gianni’s life. He started his training in Wushu while he was in elementary school in Singapore. While he was always active in martial arts and other contact sports such as rugby, andhestarted a strict supplement regime at a young age.

Gianni quickly learned that competitive training isn’t just about execution; it is also about your recovery cycles. Being aware of these factors will allow oneto perform atmaximum potential when needed.

In late 2005, Gianni moved to Shanghai, China, to further his commitment to martial arts, but instead found Hip-Hop and Capoeira.

Fast forward to 2011, Gianni moved to Northern California (aka the Bay Area) and started his journey in BrazilianJiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts.He competed in over 30 tournaments and won multiple gold medals before receiving his purple belt in 2016 under his instructor, Matheus Colhado, a Gracie Academy instructor at the time.

Today, Gianni spends most of his time doing CrossFit while teaching weekly calisthenics and Jiu-Jitsu classes at Colhado Brazilian Jiujitsu. His teaching style includes educating his students about mindset, philosophy, strength, mobility, rhythm, and martial arts logic.

Gianni highly encourages his students to be able to mimic moves and make them their own.
