I'm continuing to see improvements with the changes I made to my training plan. This week I set a lifetime deadlift PR and also had some solid squat sessions.
I continued with my new training approach this week with great success. Lots of video in this week's entry of high bar squats, bench presses, and a new addition for me - band-resisted deadlifts.
This week I had EMG analysis done on my lower body, and also made some changes to my weekly cycle, based on recent research on the ideal training volume and how to distribute it.
I made a lot of adjustments to my training this week and noted several improvements, including a chin-up with 100 pounds of added weight - a lifetime PR for me.
With a solid 475 pull, no shoulder pain, and minimal soreness after a few hard sessions, I feel like I'm getting back on track this week. I included several videos in the entry this week as well.
I pushed myself pretty hard on the squat and deadlift this week, and also worked on chins and arms. I'm seeing some improvement on my bench press and also added some calf training.
I continued my low volume week and then started renewed training efforts on Monday. Worlds will be October 6th, and I have about 21 weeks to get it together.
I’ve been feeling a bit beat up lately, so only 3 low-volume sessions this week. Nonetheless, I still managed a good pull and set a personal record on the dumbbell bench press this week.
This was a productive week, with an all-time PR on chin ups, as well as my heaviest squat and deadlift numbers weighing less than 200 pounds.
In just a week after changing my training approach, I'm already seeing the results, particularly in the bench press. Next week will focus on the lower body.
I realized this week that I've been focusing more on performance than on hard work. I decided to rededicate myself to hard work and adjusted my training a bit to reflect that decision.
I had the flu and missed over a week of training, which also made me decide to pass on the powerlifting meet. Also a video of a close call I had during a squat session this week!
