Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry for our 2014 T-shirt design contest. It came down to just a few entries before readers voted, and that vote ended up in a tie. Which is great, because we couldn’t choose just one, either!

Since there is a tie, we thought it only fair to award both designers the full $100 prize and a T-shirt (of their own design!), as well as put their designs and information up on the site.

We are so excited to have such talented and engaged readers. Not only were we able to source the designs from the community, but then the community told us which designs were the favorites. Thank you all so much for participating.

Look for the first printing of Breaking Muscle T-shirts featuring these designs to be available soon.

Tracy Dyer, despite the name, is a dude. He’s the husband of one, father of three, and a web developer who lives in the middle of nowhere (AKA central Illinois).

Tracy lost over 100lbs almost ten years ago and has made it his life work to keep it off. At age forty, he’s recently decided to give CrossFit a shot. So yeah, he’s crazy! He can be contacted at boynamedtracy@gmail.com.

Adrian Pujayana is a private practice chiropractor in South Pasadena of fourteen years, an NATA Certified Athletic Trainer, and an NSCA-CSCS. Aside from being an avid reader of Breaking Muscle for current discussions in the functional training world, he spends free time doing photography and graphic design and composing music.

Adrian loves the intensity of circuit-based functional/strength training, and this, he says, is what provides the foundation for his patients’ progress while cared for at his chiropractic and strength clinic.

In January of 2014, Adrian contracted a severe case of the H1N1 (swine flu), the strain that took so many lives of healthy young men and women. It almost took his, too. Through a recovery plan of his own design, he has regained nearly all of the thirty pounds he lost during that ordeal. He now uses the same recovery plan to help others to recover from similarly profound illnesses.

Adrian can be contacted through his website, Family Chiropractic Center of South Pasadena.

The post 2014 T-Shirt Design Contest Winners appeared first on Breaking Muscle.

After many, many requests we are finally going to do it! Breaking Muscle T-shirts for both men and women will be a reality, but first we need a great design idea.

After much discussion about who to have create the perfect design, we decided to open up the process to the Breaking Muscle community. Not only will we source the design from the community, but the community will choose the winner, too. After all, who knows what you like better than you do?

We aren’t trying to get something for nothing, though. The winning designer will receive $100, a T-shirt, and be announced as the winner on the site.

Here is the basic plan:

Submissions will be accepted until Friday, 9/19/2014 at 5:00pm Pacific time

We will present three to five of our favorites to you to vote on

We reserve the right to use any/all/none of the designs

All submissions become property of Breaking Muscle

How and what to submit:

Our T-shirts have a 16″x18″ printable area front and back

You DO NOT need to fill this area, in fact, it is recommended you don’t!

The same design is to be used on both men’s and women’s shirts

Vector files are preferred, but any graphics file except MS Publisher will work

If the file is a .jpg, it should be actual size and at least 300dpi

Questions and submission go to: winslow@breakingmuscle.com

If your files are too large to email, email me and we can use another method

This Will Be Fun!

We are very excited to see what everyone can come up with. We expect the final choice to be very difficult, which is why we’ll be needing all of you to help us decide. Whether you submit a design or not, you are welcomed and encouraged to vote.

Once we have the shirts in hand, you may see some Twitter and Facebook contests as well as other opportunities to get one free. Stay tuned!

The 2014 Top 10 Fitness Blog Contest Begins!

Every year Breaking Muscle holds a contest to determine the Top 10 Fitness Blogs on the Internet. Given that there are a lot of fitness sites out there, we need your help to sort through them all and select the twenty finalists that will go before our esteemed panel of judges. The Top 10 winners will be awarded a special badge for their website to proudly display the honor you helped them achieve.

How to Nominate:

Nominate your favorite blog (just one!) by commenting below and including why you like the blog. Only one nomination per person and please include a link to the blog. If you nominate more than one site, only your first nomination will count. Nominations will be accepted up until 12:00AM Pacific on Thursday, Feb 28th.

On March 3rd we will announce the top twenty finalists. That is, the twenty fitness blogs that received the most nominations.

These top twenty finalists will be reviewed by our panel of awesome (and very fit) judges who will then, along with our Managing Editor, select the final Top 10 Fitness Blogs of 2014.

NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 12:00AM PACIFIC ON FEB 28TH

20 FINALISTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 3RD

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 10TH

POST YOUR NOMINATION TO THE COMMENTS BELOW!

Include a link to the site and why you think it’s the best.

Who Can Enter:

Any fitness blog run by an individual. Corporations and big companies are not allowed to enter. Think of your favorite blogs run by a coach, athlete, or nutrition geek.

Our Annual Top 10 Fitness Blog Contest Begins!

We need your help in determining the Top 10 Fitness Blogs on the Internet. The Internet is a big place and there’s a lot of great stuff out there. It can also be a bit overwhelming. We are going to select the top 10 best resources for fitness information from the blogs you regularly read – and then share that information with you. The Top 10 winners will be awarded a badge for their website to proudly display the honor you helped them achieve.

How to Nominate:

Nominate your favorite blog (just one!) by commenting below and including why you like the blog. Only one nomination per person. Include a link to the blog. The last day for nominations is February 28, 2013.

On March 1st we will announce the top 20 finalists. That is, the 20 fitness blogs receiving the most nominations.

These top 20 finalists will be reviewed by our esteemed panel of awesome (and very fit) judges who will then, along with our Managing Editor, select the final Top 10 Fitness Blogs of 2013.

THE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 6TH!

What sites do you visit for info from an expert delivered on a personal level? And you visit them regularly and love the info you get? That’s who you should nominate!
