The 2013 CrossFit Games are right around the corner. Here are six unique perspectives on the details of the Games, written by CrossFit coaches, athletes, and competitors.

Monthly OpEd: Why CrossFit Masters Athletes Deserve a Spot at the Regionals (Jane Holgate)

It seems a shame to me there is no masters event at the regional level in the current CrossFit games competition structure. I think CFHQ would do well to invite its senior athletes to Regionals.

Ben Stoneberg: Headed for the CrossFit Games and Having Fun (Michelle Baumann)

Stoneberg won the Open in the Northwest region and 2nd place at the regional competition. He competed at Games the 2011 as an individual, finishing 20th. This year he’s headed back and having fun.

Four Reasons Every CrossFitter Should Participate in the CrossFit Games Open (Danette “Dizzle” Rivera)

The CrossFit Games Open begins tomorrow and there’s still time for you to register. Here are four reasons I believe you should get in on the Open, even if (or rather, especially if!) you have doubts.

Swimming and the CrossFit Games: Why Is It Everyone’s Weak Link? (Hannah Caldas)
4x CrossFit Games competitor Shana Alverson talks about the trauma of the swim component. How is it that swimming derails even the best of the best? And why is Shana calling herself out?

Daughters, the CrossFit Games, and Self-Image (Danette “Dizzle” Rivera)
As my daughters grow up I worry about their self image and what society will push upon them. I am grateful for CrossFit and the Games for showing my daughters strength is beauty.

Athlete Journal: Pat McCarty, Entry 20 – 7/17/2013 (Patrick McCarty)

This Saturday I leave for the 2013 CrossFit Games. I’ve made a lot of progress in the last year, but it’s not over yet. Here are my goals for the Games this year.
