In case you haven’t had a chance to see, read, or do their work, we’re giving you a little introduction. These are real coaches sharing real knowledge.
Andrew Read – Training for an Ironman and teaching kettlebells take his time these days, but in a previous life Andrew was also a competitive martial artists and a member of the special forces.
Becca Borawski – The managing editor of Breaking Muscle, Becca’s adventures started in martial arts but run the gamut of fitness from there. Her biggest passion is educating aspiring coaches.
Bob Takano – Bob is one of the most well respected coaches in American weightlifting today. He provides weekly videos and monthly articles on Olympic weightlifting technique.
Chris Duffin – One of the strongest people we’ve ever met, Chris provides a weekly accounting of his powerlifting training and competition. You’ve got to read it to believe it.
Conor Doherty -Conor is both a teacher and a coach, so helping others learn is his passion. He is the man behind our Sport Specific: Hockey workouts.
Danette Rivera – Officially known as our resident “Vegan CrossFitter,” Danette is also a fabulous mother, a mature athlete, a killer chef, and a coach to both children and adults.
Dini Leopoldo – Originally from Brazil, Dini now lives in Southern California and teaches kettlebells on a daily basis. She also writes our RKC Kettlebell workouts.
Donnie Thompson – If you add up his best squat, best deadlift, and best bench press it equals 3,000 pounds. He also knows a lot about physical therapy, so watch out for his weekly videos.
Dresdin Archibald – When historian meets athlete, you’ve got Olympic weightlifter and referee Dresdin Archibald. He started weight training at 14 years old, and still continues today.
Dusty Hyland – In college as a NCAA Division I athlete, Dusty scored a perfect 10 on the still rings. Today he teaches gymnastics, and breaks it down for the rest of us to understand.
Eric C. Stevens – Coming from the world of martial arts, Eric loves to blend athletics and psychology. While you’ll learn technique from him, you might also learn about yourself.
Hannah Caldas – The holder of numerous world records, Hannah knows all the finer points of swimming technique. She’s also an expert when it comes to Strongman and CrossFit.
Jeff Barnett – A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jeff is on our news team. Look for articles from him translating the latest in fitness and nutrition research.
Joshua Wortman – Joshua is the second member of our news team and he scours the web looking for breaking news and research to share with you each week.
Katherine Derbyshire – A second degree Aikido black belt and a engineer, Katherine’s passion is explaining scientific and technological issues for athletes and coaches.
Lindsey Mathews – That’s Dr. Mathews to you. Chiropractor, doula, and athlete, Lindsey is the founder of BirthFIT and is passionate about the health of women and children.
Logan Gelbrich – When it comes to athletic competition, Logan knows what he talking about – he’s a former catcher for the San Diego Padres. Read his product reviews each weekend.
Mauricio Balvanera – Possibly the epitome of nerd/jock, Mauricio does endurance sports, trained martial arts, and knows everything there is to know about every fitness app on the planet.
Mindith Rahmat – Aside from being the founder and CEO of Breaking Muscle, Mindith also writes the Awake & Evolve and Women’s workouts.
Nicole Crawford – Nicole specializes in pre- and post-natal fitness. She writes weekly on topics regarding family, women, and kids, and writes our Mommy Workouts.
Terrance Gant – I don’t know about you, but when a Marine tells me to do something I do it. Terrance is the coach in charge of the Sport Specific: Football workouts.
